Corstorphine Chiropractic
September 2026
It's September and Autumn is starting to creep into the air. This month brings some changes to the clinic as well as to the leaves! Read on for all of our clinic updates. Remember, If you have any topic you'd like us to cover or any local events you think our patients might be interested in then please let us know.

Little Library Update

I've just popped out to restock the little library and I'm pleased to say that it appears to be being well used. Remember feel free to pick up or drop off a book when you're in for your appointment. We're really pleased that it's being so well used.

There's even a wee travel guide to Lisbon in there at the mo, so if you're wanting to hop over to Faro then act quickly!

Farewell to Suzanne

We have an important update from massage at the clinic.

Suzanne has had an exciting new opportunity come up for herself, her last day with us at the clinic will be Thursday 3rd September.
She is able to run a couple of shifts ad hoc later in the month to accommodate anyone who needs to be seen before she leaves. – Please call us on 0131 339 9451 to inquire about these.

We are in the process of actively recruiting for a new massage therapist. The clinic patients are, as ever, our first priority and so we feel it’s important to make sure we have the right candidate for the role rather than rushing to recruit to fill the hours available as soon as possible.
We feel that massage is a great addition to the clinic and we’ll let you all know as soon as we find the right person. In the meantime, our chiropractors are available for appointments should you have any aches and pains that crop up.

Thanks for your understanding and your continued support. We wish Suzanne the very best in her new role.

Literatti Litter Pick
Back in July we had a really great litter pick with the Clermiston Literatti.
12 of us met outside the clinic, and very quickly spread out across Durar Drive (and beyond), Drumbrae South and North, Craigmount as far as East Craigs Primary, Drumbrae Walk, Drumbrae Drive, and so on. We managed to fill 12 bags of rubbish!

We also had wonderful 5 people from the Litterati who turned out on a hot day, and always set such a good example.

If you want to support the Litterati, they organise litter picks fortnightly on a Sunday morning around the local area. Pauline and the gang are great fun and real powerhouses in keeping our local area tidy!

Check out their facebook page for details of upcoming events.

Top 5 Tips for Spine-Safe DIY

With the days getting shorter maybe you start thinking about spending some more time doing a bit of tidying up indoors. DIY doesn’t have to mean back pain! Protect your spine with these simple tips:

1. Lift smart – Bend your knees, keep the load close, and avoid twisting while lifting.

2. Know your limits – Don’t try to move heavy or awkward items alone. Ask for help!

3. Take regular breaks – Change position and stretch gently rather than working for hours in one posture.

4. Use the right tools – Choose equipment that reduces bending, reaching and overloading your back.

5. Listen to your body – Don’t push through sharp or worsening pain. Stop and reassess.

💡 A little preparation can save your back a lot of trouble.

If you've overdone it and your pain isn't settling down give Corstorphine Chiropractic a call and see if we can help.
